The DREAM Hub Project aims to provide a holistic and balanced environment to help learners be passionate about learning. Specifically, it aims to help the Filipino children to:
D – Discover their potentials and talents;
R – Relax and enjoy their lives as kids;
E – Explore the possibilities through books and toys;
A – Achieve their goals; and
M – Motivate other students to nurture their passion for learning.
It is a collaboration between Silid Aralan Inc.(SAI) and KIDS Club. Silid Aralan provides the learning strategies and tools for the learners. They provide the teaching modules which the learners use every time they visit the DREAM Hub. They also hire staff who are in-charge of teaching the modules, monitor the learners’ progress, and management of the hub. KIDS Club, on the other hand, is responsible for the hub’s physical set-up (mats, shelves, bean bags, etc); books and other learning materials; and educational toys. Support from parents, community, and local partners is also tapped for the overall success and effectiveness of the DREAM Hub.
Each DDREAM Hub is composed of three main areas:
The Reading Area provides a quite and comfortable place for the learners as they enjoy a variety of books and other reading materials.
The Creativity Area is equipped with tools and toys to encourage the learners to develop their creativity and strategic thinking as find their passion for the arts, music, or science.
The Play Area is filled with different toys such as cars, trains, dolls, pretend toys (cooking set, doctor’s kit, carpenter’s toolbox, etc.) for the learners to enjoy.
Most of the books and toys are pre-loved and hand-me-downs. Although we also welcome new toys and books, we prefer to receive those which were outgrown but well-kept. Why? Because we also want to share the owner’s story for each toy and book to the learners. We believe that through this, they can help inspire our learners. It will also encourage our learners to also take care of the things inside the hub.
We would appreciate it very much if you can help us make the DREAM Hub Project as success! To donate, please refer to the poster below.
