Learners Finally Enjoying Camp 7 Dream Hub

Two weeks after its formal opening and ribbon-cutting, the SAI KIDS Dream Hub – Camp 7 is finally operational! It was a fun Saturday morning for 80 second graders yesterday as they spent sone time with student volunteers from the University of the Cordilleras (UC). The student volunteers helped facilitate several getting-to-know games and activities. They also spent some free time with the learners playing with different toys and reading some books.

SAI KIDS Dream Hub Finally Opened for Learners

On 05 August, members of KIDS Club visited Camp 7 Elementary School to set-up and softly launched the Dream Hub. (Read the whole story here.) However due to heavy rains, the painting of the walls and furnitures was not done.  It was only a few days later when the room was completely finished.

And to formally open the Dream Hub, a ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony was held last 20 August. Representatives from SAI, UC, Camp 7 Elementary School, and the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Baguio City graced the event.

Mr. Arcie Mallari, SAI Founder and CEO, gave an inspirational message highlighting the “malasakit” value or principle. Malasakit is a tagalog word which means: caring for something or someone as a sign of appreciation. Ms. Elaine Cabuag from DepEd commended the reinforced partnership of SAI, KIDS, UC, and Camp Elementary School especially for the Dream Hub Project.Lastly Dr. Leonarda Aguinalde, UC Vice-President for Administration, encouraged the parents, teachers, and learners to work hand-in-hand to help the future generation. She also talked about the concept of ownership and reiterated that the Dream Hub is not only for the project partners but also for the people of Camp 7.  As their way of saying thank you, some learners shared their talents in dancing.
